Mission Statement
Elementary School – Huntland Elementary School will provide educational and social development experiences to help students be successful in meeting proficiency in all areas in preparation for middle school.
Middle School – Students in middle school will be prepared through the combined efforts of faculty, family and community so that they will meet proficiency on all state and federal mandated assessments in preparation for high school.
High School - Huntland School, a traditional and historic Pre-K-12 school, will empower its students through the cooperative efforts of a supportive community, caring staff, and involved family to achieve personal and academic success and to meet or exceed proficiency to become contributing citizens.
Beliefs
- Learning -All students learn through interaction with teachers and peers actively engaged in the learning process.
- Instruction -Students succeed best when instructional practices incorporate a variety of developmentally appropriate learning activities at all levels.
- Assessment -A variety of assessment tools are essential to monitor and enhance student progress.
- Decision-Making -In order to make appropriate decisions and establish effective policies, it is necessary for all stakeholders to work collaboratively.
- Policy -School rules and school board policies encourage students to become responsible and accountable for their decisions.
2006-07 Achievements
- On the Gateway Exam, students met 100% in Biology and Language and 93% in Mathematics.
- The Kindergarten class had 100% of class qualify for Book It reading program.
- Had a winner in the Duck River Essay contest and earned a trip to Washington, D.C.
- The Huntland Band received “Excellent” rating at two festivals.
- Seniors received $375,000 in scholarships.
- FFA Chapter received 2nd Place at the Tennessee State Fair.

Mission Statement
North Middle School will be a caring, progressive educational organization and will provide each student the opportunity to develop his or her highest potential through mastery of his or her academic, social, cultural, and physical endeavors.
Beliefs

2006-07 Achievements
- Algebra I Gateway students were 97.5% advanced in 2006-07.
- Eleven seventh Grade students participated in the Duke University Talent Identification-three received State Recognition.
- NMS had first, second, and third place winncers in the Fram Bureau Essay Contest.
- NMS conducted a successful science fair.
- On the 2006 Writing Assessment , 83.6% of NMS eighth graders scored in the "competent to outstanding" range. NMS school average was 4.26 our of 5.00.
- NMS students placed first and third in the Franklin County Spelling Bee.
- Five eighth grade students competed in the Webb History Contest. The team placed third and one NMS student placed second individually.
- NMS has threee finalists in the D.A.R. Essay Contest.
- NMS was very active in 4-H. NMS had winners in the Speaking Contest. NMS sixth, seventh, and eighth grade Clover Bowl teams all placed first in the county contest. NMS eighth grade won the Regional Competition.
- NMS band continues to be strong-243 students participated this year. NMS band performed at several events throughtout the year. 150 student participated in the Solo & Ensemble Festival, 99% received superior or excellent ratings. Fifteen students participated in the Tri Lakes Honor Band Clinic.
- NMS eighth grade participated in the History Living Time Line presented in May. NMS students, elementary students, and the public toured through history in the NMS gym.
- Fifty drama club students presented the musical, Annie Jr., in the spring. The play was presented to the public two evenings as well as to the entire student body.
- NMS students placed first, second, and third in the Junior Division Laws of Life Contest.
- NMS seventh and eighth grade students participated in the county math contest. The eighth grade team placed second.

At South Middle School, we will respect ourselves and one another, appreciate individual differences, and encourage one another to reach our potential as we strive to reach social and academic success in secondary education.
Vision Statement
At South Middle School, we see our future as attending to all student needs as a transition school between elementary and high school. We will do this by offering a nurturing and safe environment that promotes an academic focus, values diversity, and challenges all students to achieve their full potential as we constantly and consistently add to our program to meet the requirements of each individual student. This will be accomplished through growing support from home, staff, university, and community partners.

- Four band students received superior or excellent ratings at the Tri-Lakes Solo and Ensemble Festival.
- Eight-six percent of the students in the 8th grade who took the TCAP Writing Assessment scored proficient or above.
- The History Team received 5th place in the Webb School History Contest.
- Seven students received state recognition in the Duke Talent Search program.
