Text Box: How I use Predictable Charts:
We do one predictable chart a week. It usually goes along with our theme or what we are studying.
Day 1– Each student will dictate a sentence for the chart.
Day 2 – Each student will track print of sentence and read.
Day 3 - Sentence building: Choose several sentences, write on sentence strip, and
cut apart. The students will build the sentence back together.
(The teacher will type each sentence, print, and cut apart words for each student.)
Day 4 - Each student will sequence their sentence, track print and read, and glue on paper to create page for our classroom book.
Day 5 - Each student will illustrate their page for our classroom book.

Beginning in November I teach the students how to type their own sentence.
In January the students will write their sentence on stationary.
